Fact or crap? A minor can get in trouble for giving alcohol to another minor.
FACT. Maine alcohol laws say that it’s a criminal offense for any person, adult or minor, to give alcohol to a minor. Violating this law can result in fines from $500 to $2,000 and/or a year in jail. And if anyone gets hurt, you can be charged with a felony and sued for up to $250,000 and unlimited medical expenses.
Fact or crap? It’s a good sign to be throwing up at the end of the night, ‘cause it gets out the alcohol.
CRAP. Vomiting after drinking is a bad sign, not a good one—and it does nothing to remove the alcohol that is already in your bloodstream. It’s your body’s way of saying, “Whoa, we need to put on the brakes on!”
Fact or crap? It’s normal to pass out from drinking.
CRAP. The fact is, most people don’t pass out from drinking. Passing out is a sign of heavy drinking and actually is a medical emergency. There is a big difference between “passing out” and “crashing for the night”. If a friend appears to be crashed but you aren’t sure, try to wake them up. You could save a life
